Kerning
Kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font. When you search the word "kerning," Google does just that to every instance of the word "kerning" within your search results.

Type "Do a barrel roll" into Google - and then hold on!
Translate your Google experience into Pirate, Elmer Fudd, and Klingon
Google's language translation has become quite advanced over the years. It's even possible to translate Google's navigation into Pirate, Elmer Fudd, and Klingon. Give it a try:

Zerg Rush
Gamer or not - this is an enjoyable way to waste a few minutes on a slow workday (not that we have any of those around here). Type "zerg rush" into your Google search and watch out for an advancing army of O's. Click the O's a few times to destroy them and protect your search results.
Binary, Octal, Hexidecimal
This one is a bit nerdy (nerdier?): when you search for the word "binary," the number of results is displayed in binary format. This also works for the words "Octal" and "Hexidecimal."

Bacon Number
This is a Design Brooklyn favorite - not to mention a useful everyday tool. Just type any actor's name followed by the words "bacon number" and Google will show you how the shortest path between that celebrity and 80's Footloose star Kevin Bacon.
